Bid'ah: Reciting Qur'aan at the Graveyards

The reciting of the Qur'aan in the graveyards is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance!

That which is legislated for whoever visits the graveyards of the Muslims is to extend greetings to [the grave dwellers] and supplicate for them [just] as the Prophet (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) did when he would pass by the graves or visited them, and he [certainly] did not recite the Qur'aan there; He (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Whoever introduces anything into this matter of ours (i.e. Islaam) that which is not from it, will have it rejected"
