Science Within the Qur'aan [Some Verses]
Surah al A’raf [7:54] – Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His Command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
Surah az Zumar [39:5] – He created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.
Surah Luqman [31:10] – He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We send down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.
Surah al Mu’minum [23:12-14] – And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging [the womb]. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.
Surah an-Nahl [16:67-69] – And from the fruits of the palm trees and grapevines you take intoxicant and good provision. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who reason. And your Lord inspired the bee, ‘Take for yourself among the mountains, houses [i.e. hives], and among the trees and [in] that which they construct. Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you].’ There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colours, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.
Surah Fatir [35:27-28] – Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colour? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and [some] extremely black. And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colours similarly. Only those fear Allah, from among His servants, who have knowledge. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving.
Surah ar-Rahman [55:19-23] – He released the two seas, meeting [one another]; Between them is a barrier so neither of them transgresses. So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny? From both of them emerge pearl and coral. So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny?
Surah Qaf [50:16] – And We have created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein.
Surah an Nazi’at [79:27-33] – What! Are you harder to create than the heaven which He has built? He raised it high and fashioned it. He made dark its night and brought out its light. And after that He spread the earth [egg-shaped], And then drew from it water and pastures. Then the mountains He fixed: A provision for you and for your cattle.
Surah an Naba [78:6-17] – Have We not made the earth as a bed, And the mountains as pegs? have made your sleep as a thing for rest. And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), And have made the day for livelihood. And We have built above you seven strong (heavens) And have made (therein) a shining lamp (sun). And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, And gardens of thick growth. Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time.
Surah as Sajdah [32:27] – Have they not seen how We drive water (rain clouds) to the dry land without any vegetation, and therewith bring forth crops providing food for their cattle and themselves? Will they not then see?
Surah al An’am [6:97] – It is He Who has set the stars for you, so that you may guide your course with their help through the darkness of the land and the sea. We have (indeed) explained in detail Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, Revelations, etc.) for people who know.
Surah al Waqi’ah [56:63-72] – Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). (Saying): "We are indeed Mughramun (i.e. ruined or lost the money without any profit) "Nay, but we are deprived!"Tell Me! The water that you drink. Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable), why then do you not give thanks (to Allah)? Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?
Surah ‘ali ‘Imran [3:191] - Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire.
