Innalillah wa inna lillahil raji'oon!
A woman once sent her son to the masjid to record everything they were teaching about the Prophet, sallAllahu alayhi wa salam. The son would take notes of everything his ear's could make out, and then report it to his mother. One day the son got really ill and his mother didn't know what to do. So she took him to the masjid herself and asked if they could look after him and pray for him for that day. By the evening time she went back to check up on the well being of her son. They told her "Your son is in a much peaceful state." The mother went back home and waited for her husband to get back from work. She then fixed him a nice plate and when the husband asked how his son was doing she said "He is in a much peaceful state darling". Fair enough, they continued their evening. Later that evening she asked her husband, "If you borrowed something from the neighbour and they asked for it back, would you get mad?" The husband replies, "Of course not, it was not ours to begin with - it was a loan". The wife then says "Well, Allah asked for our son back today. To Him we belong and to Him we shall return."
SubhanAllah, may we observe patience like that of this mother, for Allah loves As-Sabiroon, ameen.
