Do you ever wonder why certain people were placed in your life? There has to be some reason. There is usually some fitnah or some blessing that comes with each person that you know and those that you keep close, varying from your family life to your personal life. Whether they love you, hurt you, help you, bring you down, bring you towards Allah, or pull you away from Him, there is some lesson from each and every relationship. The Prophet (sallAllaahu alayhi wa salam) has described those you keep close as the sellers of musk or as blacksmiths; you either take the good smell or a bad smell with you, depending on who they are. Try to keep a small circle, and always be aware of the company you keep.
